FLAME the FLAMINGO

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF…

… you gave a yoyo to a flamingo? (Cue creativity on the part of Disney animators.) (Fantasia music also- Camille Saint-SaĆ«ns' Carnival of Animals, classical piece)

And from that point, Flame the Flamingo, (stage name "Yoyo") became increasingly involved in trying to make a yoyo work and ended being tied up in yoyo string...but Yo has the last laugh as he has a stash of yoyos as you will see.

“Flame the Flamingo” is not exactly of the aviary community. He wears Mickey Mouse ears when off set and faithfully stands in the garden, guarding against any intruder or bird that might harm the occupant of said home. There have actually, for real, been birds that have flown through the open front door.

Flame’s claim to fame (love the poetry here) is his ability to play with yoyo’s which he demonstrated so aptly in his debut in “Fantasia” the Disney animation that was remade a few years ago. The best way to see this animation by the way, is at an IMAX and sitting in the first row so you are part of the flamingo antics. Lovely.

So why “Flame the Flamingo?” He was created by artist animators who were re-creating the Fantasia animation some years ago. When they came to the “birds section” of the movie, they wanted to give a new twist to the flamingo episode. Thus, Yoyo, aka Flame was born.

Flame has a hot and colorful personality. He guards the garden. He greets visitors. He is an ambassador for anything/anybody that has Mickey ears and who is a grandchild, relative, friend…his talents are limitless. And of course he knows how to yoyo. He is an individual who refuses to follow the crowd even though flamingo peer pressure is heavily weighing on him.
